The owners of Village at Robinson Farm chose professionals they feel are the best in the business. From concept to execution, the expertise of the development team is reflected throughout every aspect of the Village at Robinson Farm project.
Brad Davis of Land Design envisioned the first master plan for the VRF neighborhood in 1996. Brad grew Land Design to be one of the most reknowned land planning firms in the US, with offices from its Charlotte home to DC, Pinehurst, Asheville, Nashville, Tampa, and Bejing, PRC. Christy Magas heads the Land Design team on VRF, and we look forward to this award-winning firm’s work to show in a great retail and office venue at VRF. Christy is very current with “green” landscaping methods, and we’ll see those in use in the LEED pre-certified VRF. Land Design has been shaping this neighborhood for a good while with their contributions to Ballantyne and Blakeney. Please see www.landdesign.com.
Jim Williams invented mixed use in Charlotte, winning the national ULI Design Award for Phillips Place, and then outdoing himself by designing Ballantyne Corporate Park, Ballantyne Resort, Morrocroft Centre, Piedmont Center, and SouthPark Mall expansion. We challenged Jim to give us something different from the standard brick, Georgian shopping center. He chose to recall Piedmont farm architecture. Watch for a hip version of the old farm, and a great venue for outdoor dining restaurants! Please see www.ls3p.com.
Lat Purser & Associates, Inc. is project developer, leasing and managing agent. Their 45 years of experience in shopping centers in the Southeast prepare them to execute this project. LPA specializes in developing high quality projects for owners who intend to own them forever. Bob Otten, President, has guided the development from its inception. Steve Mitchener heads retail leasing and Chad Hagerman handles office leasing. Please see www.latpurser.com.
Jennifer Stanton, PhD, of JMS Advisory is retail tenant mix strategist. From Neiman Marcus and Nordstom to ABC Liquor Stores and Borders Books & Music, Jennifer has worked with every kind of merchant for large national developers Simon and Taubman and regional ones like us. Shopping for a living, Jennifer knows great stores make fantastic projects. Coming soon when she’s back from scoping out new concepts visit her at www.jenniferstanton.com.
Don’t expect to see a standard plastic corporate sign at VRF. Gary Hixson of Hixson Design created a signature sign program that exudes good taste and makes it inviting and easy for customers to find you. He’s at 704-334-8088.
Ben Taylor and Jennifer Roy of Kimley-Horn have done a great job designing our road widenings. Please see www.kimley-horn.com.
We got the best with Choate Construction Company. Dave Priester, Matt Leach, Michael Will, Jeff Miller, Chad Brannon and Joe Ramseur are handling the construction. Sara O’Mara is the in-house LEED expert. Please see
www.choateco.com.
The land under VRF has been in Jim Houser’s family for 150 years (his mom was a Robinson). He has over 30 years’ experience in retail and office real estate in Atlanta and Charlotte. Jim’s goal is to hire the absolute best professionals in the business to create and run Village at Robinson Farm. His relatives still live around the corner. We pledge to do a great job to honor them and those that came before us. Please see www.compassroseassociates.com.
